Masters Men’s Ch’ship starts today in Cornwall, Masters Women’s Ch’ship begins Sat.

The 10 team Provincial Masters Men’s Curling Championship, for curlers age 60 and over, gets underway today, with draws at 9 am and 1 pm at the Cornwall Curling Club. Play starts Saturday morning for the two team Master’s Women’s championship at the same venue. No admission charge to watch this event.

9 AM:

Womens’ best of five series between Shirley Berry (Cornwall and Charlottetown) and Diane MacKay (Cornwall Curling Club): games go Saturday at 9 AM and 12:30 pm, Sunday at 9 am and, if necessary, 12:30 pm, and, if needed, Monday at 1 pm.

The men’s two game championship round, if required, goes Tuesday at 9 am and (if needed) 1 pm.

The Cornwall Curling Club will be selling soup and sandwiches at lunch-time Friday through Sunday, and will be conducting a 50X50 draw.

The men’s and women’s winners and runners-up (which will include both women’s teams this year) will earn the right to compete in the Maritime Masters Championships. Dates and venue for this event have not yet been announced. The winning teams, or the highest-finishing men’s and women’s rinks that choose to attend, are invited to participate in the 2015 NVA Hotel Divison Canadian Masters Championships, March 30 to Apr. 5 at the Whitehorse Curling Club in the Yukon.
