The former world junior champion, with the support of teammates Shelly Bradley, Michelle McQuaid and Susan McInnis, will be part of the 12-team field at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Feb. 14-22, in Moose Jaw.

The Birt foursome defeated six-time Scotties competitor Kathy O’Rourke 10-4 in the final match of the modified triple-knockout competition.

Birt was the Canadian junior champ in 2001 and 2002, bringing home the gold medal in her first appearance at the world championship. After graduating from the junior ranks, she first represented Prince Edward Island at the Scotties in 2003.
