The Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club and Charlottetown Curling Complex team, which also includes second Mark O’Rourke and lead Mark Butler, who were both on last year’s runner-up team, beat Charlottetown’s Blair Weeks rink 3-1 in a low scoring championship game this afternoon.

Weeks, and lead Mark Victor, who were both members of  the MacDonald rink last year, were joined this time by third Philip Gorveatt and second Mike Dillon.

Today’s game saw four blank ends, and no team scoring more than a single point in an end. MacDonald scored a point with opening end last rock advantage, and stole a single in the fourth. Weeks got on the board with a single in the six, and a MacDonald single in the eighth gave MacDonald a two point advantage at the end of the game, and a trip to the 2016 Everest Canadian Senior Curling Championships, March 28-April 2, 2016 in Digby, NS. Weeks won the first of three modified triple knockout sections in the six team event, but MacDonald won the other two, both over Summerside’s Blair Jay, giving him the title today if he had won either of the two scheduled games, which he was able to do on the first try.

Joining the MacDonald foursome in Digby will be the Kim Dolan rink, who went undefeated to win the women’s championship on Sunday, beating Charlottetown clubmate Shelley Ebbett 8-4 in the “C” final of the four team modified triple knockout.
