Team UPEI loses opener at AUS Ch’ships

Team UPEI Women, skipped by Veronica Smith, lost a close opener to the Mount Allison University women, skipped by Krista Nix, this evening, at the 2016 Subway AUS Curling Championships at the Highlander Curling Club in St. Andrews, N.S. by a 6-5 score.  UPEI had a 4-2 lead after 5 ends, but Mt. A tied it with a sixth end deuce. UPEI scored one in seven, but another deuce by Mt. A in the final end gave them the win.

On Friday, UPEI plays the Saint Mary’s team at 8 am, and Acadia at 8 pm.

The top two women’s and men’s teams advance to the 2016 CIS / CCA Curling Championships hosted by the Kelowna Curling Club, March 20-23.
