Weekend curling update

Canadian Mixed Doubles in Fredericton: Jocelyn Peterman and PEI’s Brett Gallant, the 2016 national champions, beat the team of John Morris and Jolene Campbell yesterday to advance to the semis, where they play Laura Walker and Kirk Muyres at 10 this morning. Team PEI – Rachel O’Connor and Ryan Abraham ended play out of the playoffs at 2-5.

The duo of Lauren Ferguson and Mitchell Schut are in second place with a 4-2 win-loss record, and play at 9:30 this morning in their final round-robin game at the U18 Mixed Doubles trial event in Fredericton. The playoffs start at noon with 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd place. The Gold and Bronze medal games are at 2:30.

PEI Men and Women are both 0-3 at the Everest Canadian Seniors in Chilliwack BC.

Team Saskatchewan won the Canadian Firefighters in BC, with PEI finishing out of the playoffs with a 3-7 record.
