Team Schut (defending Boy’s champions) and Lauren Ferguson playing in 9:15 am semis in Halifax U18 Harvest Spiel

A 9-3 Saturday afternoon win put Cornwall’s Mitchell Schut team, with a 2-2 win-loss record, into the 9:15 am semi-finals in the Under 18 Harvest Spiel at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax.

PEI native Lauren Ferguson, now curling out of the Halifax Curling Club, is skipping a team which includes Cate Fitzgerald from her U21 rink (which is skipped by Taylour Stevens), and has advanced to the Girls’ semis at the same time, sporting a 3-1 win-loss record.

Team Schut also includes Chase MacMillan, Cruz Pineau, and Liam Kelly, and are the defending champions in the Boys’ event, going undefeated last year.

Eight teams are entered in this year’s Boys’ event, with 12 in the Girls’.

The finals go at 1:15 pm.
