Following 4 new COVID-19 cases, the PEI Chief Provincial Health Office and the Government of PEI issued a number of directives on Sunday afternoon to the effect that PEI will be doing a “Circuit breaker” for the next two weeks (starting Monday Dec. 7), and requesting that Islanders stay home as much as possible. One of these directives was that there would be no team sports . Out of an abundance of caution, the Cornwall Curling Club will be closing effective immediately (Sunday Dec. 6). This means that the Sunday evening Doubles Draw and any rentals will not be held, and all team curling including rentals, daytime and evening leagues etc. will be cancelled until further notice.
The office will remain open 9-5 Monday through Friday and the Pro Shop will be open noon to 5 the same days.
Their Board of Directors will be issuing a statement with more info within the next 24-48 hours.
CPHO Dr. Heather Morrison and Premier King said they hope these measures can be lifted by Dec. 21.
