P.E.I.’s Birt rink drops high-scoring game to Fleury’s wild-card team, faces Jennifer Jones 4:30 Wed. (Guardian)

CALGARY, Alta. — 

P.E.I.’s Suzanne Birt rink dropped a high-scoring game to Tracy Fleury’s wild-card team at the 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts Tuesday night.

The final score was 10-6.

Birt and her Cornwall Curling Club team of third Marie Christianson, second Meaghan Hughes, lead Michelle McQuaid, alternate Kathy O’Rourke and coach Mitch O’Shea now sit at 3-2 (won-lost) in round-robin play at the Canadian women’s curling championship.

The top four teams after the round robin advance to the championship pool.

P.E.I. plays the Jennifer Jones-skipped rink from Manitoba on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., Atlantic Time. Jones enters Wednesday’s play at 3-2.

P.E.I. will close out round-robin play on Thursday against Nunavut’s Lori Eddy (0-6) at 11:30 a.m. and British Columbia’s Corryn Brown (3-2) at 9:30 p.m.
