Weekend curling wrapup: Zacharias with Lenentine sweeps Winnipeg event, Kim beats Jones with 6-ender but loses Sherwood Park semi

It was a 5-3 win in the final for Altona Manitoba’s Team Zacharias with PEI’s Lauren Lenentine over Winnipeg’s Beth Peterson at the Mother Club Fall Curling Classic in Winnipeg this weekend. Zacharias finished with a perfect 6-0 record. Next up for Zacharias is the Atkins curling classic in Winnipeg from Oct 1st-3rd.

Korea’s Team Kim, coached by Islander Peter Gallant, had a big 7-3 win over Jennifer Jones to advance to the semi-finals of the Sherwood Park Women’s Classic in Edmonton. Kim stole the first end and picked up SIX points in the fourth end to bring the game to a speedy conclusion. Kim lost 7-3 to Tracy Fleury in the semis. Fleury won the final 7-4 over Kerri Einarson.
