Curl PEI Postpones the 2022 Masters Curling Championships

Although the current temporary COVID-19 measures are scheduled to be lifted on January 17, the Curl PEI Board of Directors have made the decision to postpone the 2022 PEI Masters Curling Championships, for curlers age 60+. Without knowing what restrictions may still be in place next week it was felt this decision was the best option to ensure the safety of the athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers.

The event was scheduled to be held at the Western Community Curling Club January 19-23, 2022.  As there are no immediate time constraints to have this event played right away, Curl PEI will attempt to reschedule the provincial event later in the season.

Curl PEI will continue to consult with health authorities and partners for the remaining events on the 2021-2022 calendar, and remains hopeful that some championship events can be played safely and responsibly.
