Brett, Peter Gallant begin curling competition at Winter Olympics (Saltwire)

(by Jason Simmonds) There will be interest in the team curling competitions at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing on Prince Edward Island.

Brett Gallant of Charlottetown plays the second stone for Team Canada’s Brad Gushue rink, which begins round-robin play against Denmark at 8:05 a.m., Atlantic Standard Time today.

Gallant’s father, Peter, is the head coach for South Korea in women’s curling.

The remaining schedule for the Gushue rink is as follows (all games available on CBC):

  • Feb. 10 – vs. Norway, 2:05 a.m.
  • Feb. 11 – vs. Switzerland, 8:05 a.m.
  • Feb. 12 – vs. Sweden, 2:05 a.m.; vs. the United States, 9:05 p.m.
  • Feb. 14 – vs. Italy, 2:05 a.m.; China, 9:05 p.m.
  • Feb. 15 – vs. ROC, 8:05 a.m.
  • Feb. 16 – vs. Great Britain, 9:05 p.m.
