BRIER UPDATE: Gushue improves to 3-0; P.E.I. drops first two games (SaltWire)

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Brad Gushue’s wild-card rink enters play at the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier on March 7 undefeated.

The Gushue team, which Charlottetown’s Brett Gallant playing second stone, edged Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs 8-7 in a clash of 2-0 teams in the evening draw on March 6.

Gushue plays Jamie Koe’s rink from the Northwest Territories on March 7.

P.E.I.’s Tyler Smith is 0-2 after dropping a 9-3 eight-end decision to Saskatchewan’s Colton Flasch on March 6. Smith, third stone Adam Cocks, second stone Ed White, lead Ryan Lowery and fifth player Chris Gallant take on Team Canada (Brendan Bottcher) and Newfoundland and Labrador (Nathan Young) on March 7.
