MacDonald 4-4, Berry 2-6 at Canadian Seniors

Peter MacDonald and his Charlottetown rink scored four points in the 9th end in a 9-5 win over New Brunswick’s Robert MacDiarmid team to improve to an even 4-4 win-loss record after Wednesday play at the World Financial Group Canadian Seniors in Ottawa. Shirley Berry’s Cornwall/Charlottetown team lost both their games, 9-4 to Quebec’s Agnes Charette, and 7-6 to New Brunswick’s Heidi Hanlon, to slip to 2-6.

Saskatchewan’s Brad Heidt leads the men, with a 7-1 win-loss record, followed by Ont. and Alta. at 6-2. Sask., NB, and BC are atop the women’s standings at 6-2.

MacDonald plays Nova Scotia’s Brian Rafuse this afternoon, while Berry faces Nova Scotia’s Jocelyn Nix this morning, and Ontario (Dale Curtis) this evening.

Round robin play wraps up Friday evening, with the finals going Sunday afternoon.
