Summerside rink to compete in Canadian Firefighters, starting Saturday in Regina

The Gordon MacFadyen rink from the Summerside Fire Department were the winners of this year’s Provincial Firefighters Curling Championship, the first victory by a Summerside team in the 39 year history of the event. Other members of the team, who defeated Montague’s Jeff Nelson rink in the final, are Jim Arsenault (lead), Dwayne MacNeil (2nd), and Leo Stewart (3rd). 

The MacFadyen rink are representing PEI at  the 51st annual Canadian Fire Fighters Muscular Dystrophy Hydrant Curling Championships, which get underway on Saturday, and wrap up the following Saturday, April 3, at the Highland Curling Club in Regina. The defending champions are the Jeff Gartner rink from the host Regina Fire Department.
