PEI men 2-2, women 1-3 at Canadian Masters

Day two is over at the Canadian Masters Curling Championships, for curlers age 60 and over, taking place in Saint John New Brunswick. PEI’s men’s team, skipped by O’Leary’s Clair Sweet, split their games today,  losing 5-2 to Ontario, but beating Alberta 6-2. Other members of the Sweet team are Bob Matheson, Cliff Poirier, and Wayne Arsenault.

The PEI women’s team from the Silver Fox, skipped by Jeanne Duffenais, with teammates Georgie Coulson, Marg Nowlan, and Pat Barrett, lost 5-4 to Alberta and 8-1 to New Brunswick, to slip to 1-3.

 BC and Nova Scotia are both undefeated in the women’s section, while Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan are unbeaten on the men’s side.

Round robin play wraps up on Wednesday. PEI teams have the morning draw off.  Sweet takes on the Northwest Territories team in the afternoon, and Nova Scotia in the evening, while Duffenais plays Quebec in the afternoon. The finals are at 7 Friday evening.
