Fitzner-LeBlanc, Christianson rinks win CFB Halifax Propeller Cashspiel

The Ian Fitzner-LeBlanc rink from Halifax blanked Windsor Nova Scotia’s Mark Kehoe team by a 7-0 score after only three ends this afternoon to win the men’s side of the 6th annual Propeller Brewing Company Cashspiel  at the CFB Halifax Curling Club. Another Halifax team, skipped by Marie Christianson, downed fellow Haligonians the Sarah Rhyno foursome 10-2 to win the women’s side of the event. Twenty men’s teams and 10 women’s rinks took part.  Both PEI teams entered finished out of the playoffs, with the Eddie MacKenzie team ending round robin play with a 1- 3 win-loss record, while the Robert Campbell rink did not manage to pick up a win in five games.

 $1600 and $1300 go to the men’s and women’s winners, respectively.

The next stops in the Atlantic Curling Tour are the Capital Winter Club Capital Cup Oct. 15-17 in Fredericton, the Gahan Brewery Cashspiel, October 29-31 at the Montague Curling Club, and the Rodd Curling Classic. Nov. 4-7 at the Charlottetown Curling Club. Also coming up in November is the Labatt/Superstore/Journal-Pioneer Cashspiel, Nov. 26-28 at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside.
