(PEICanada.com) There will be a social night at the Belfast Recreational Centre November 12 at 7 pm for any people interested in joining the community’s new social curling league.
Besides registration, the social night will have many food and activities including Belfast trivia, chili, chicken wings and a curling clinic put on by curling professionals. Everyone is welcome regardless of experience, and admission is free.
“Though the population of school-aged children in the community is falling, many retired and semiretired people are moving in. The new Belfast Curling Club will be a way to build and maintain relationships in the community, which is important because the community gets stronger when people are brought together”, Jim Kinnee said. He added it also gives people in the area something they can do in their own community.
“The Belfast Recreational Centre has bought curling equipment including brooms and sliders which makes it easier for people new to the sport to get involved”, Mr Kinnee said.
Junior registration will be Saturday at 10am.
