Although three out of four semi-finalists in the Perth Masters in Perth Scotland were from Canada, only one, Mike McEwen of Winnipeg,  advanced to the final game, which he won 6-1 over Thomas Ulsrud of Norway. In the semi-finals,  the Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI native Adam Casey at second, lost 5-4 to McEwen, and Ulsrud downed Steve Laycock of Saskatoon 9-1.
