PEI teams finish out of the Winners’ Circle at Maritime Masters

The Maritime Masters Curling Championships wrapped up today at the Bluenose Curling Club in New Glasgow NS. The three PEI teams entered finished out of the winners’ circle, with the Louis Walsh and Shirley Berry teams finishing fourth in the men’s and women’s sections respectively, both with 2-3 win-loss records. The Ruth Stavert rink finished at 1-4.

The Men’s Champions, with a perfect 5-0 round robin record, are New Brunswick #2 from the Carleton Curling Club in Fredericton. Skip: Peter Taylor, Mate: Hal Kimball; 2nd: Frank Belyea; lead: David Ross.

Men’s Runners-up with a 4-1 record: Skip: David Sullivan, Third:Charlie Sullivan, Second: Rolly Lord, Lead Jeff Mulherin.

Women’s Champions with a 4-1 round robin record, are New Brunswick # 1 from Capital Winter Club in Fredericton. Skip:Connie Bothwell, Third:Isabel Yeamans, Second:Nancy Syroid, Lead:Helen MacDonald.

Runners-up with a record of 4-1 are New Brunswick # 2 from the Beaver/Sackville Curling Clubs.          Skip: Monique Taylor, Third: Anna Acton, Second: Barb Curry and Lead: Sharon MacIntyre.

NB1 were declared winners by virtue of their win over NB2 earlier in the round robin.
