MacDonald rink splits Wednesday games at Canadian Mixed (Guardian)

OTTAWA — P.E.I.’s Rod MacDonald rink split two games at the Canadian mixed curling championship here on Wednesday.

Quebec’s Mike Fournier scored a deuce with last-rock advantage in the 10th end to edge MacDonald 8-7 in the morning draw.

Then in the afternoon, MacDonald, third stone Kathy O’Rourke, second stone Mark O’Rourke and lead Karen MacDonald rallied with deuces in the eighth and ninth ends to edge Nova Scotia’s Rob Harris 7-4.

The results leave MacDonald with a 4-5 (won-lost) record. Thursday, the P.E.I. representative plays Ontario’s Cory Heggestad in Draw 15 at 3:30 p.m., Atlantic time, and Stephen Moss of the Northwest Territories in Draw 16 at 8 p.m.
