Team Gushue beat another St. John’s rink, skipped by Colin Thomas, 6-2 in tonight’s final. The game was tied one-all going into the fifth end, where Gushue scored a five-ender. Thomas scored one in the sixth, but it was handshake time.

This will be Gushue’s 11th trip to the Brier, winning every year beginning in 2003, except for 2006 when he was winning Gold for Canada at the Olympics and was unable to compete. Gushue’s team now includes PEI natives Adam Casey of Seven Mile Bay, who joined the team in 2011, and Brett Gallant of Charlottetown, who came on board the following year. Geoff Walker is team lead.
