Champions crowned at the Ferguson-Logan Montague Funeral Home PEI Stick Curling Championships

The Ferguson-Logan Montague Funeral Home PEI Stick Curling Championships wrapped up on Thursday at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex – the Barry Craswell and Roy Coffin team from the Cornwall Curling Club won the Open Division (any combination of male and/or female curlers), and, also from the Cornwall Curling Club, the Elaine Hughes and Etta Reid captured the Women’s Division title.

The Craswell/Coffin team beat the defending champions, from the Maple Leaf Curling Club, Clair Sweet and Bob Matheson 6-4 in the final game while the Hughes/Reid duo won 7-0 against Audrey Callaghan and Anne Barwise from the Maple Leaf Curling Club.

Both winning rinks are guaranteed a spot at the 2023 Canadian Stick Curling Championships,  March 30-April 2 in Nanaimo, BC.  It is an open competition with both open and women’s divisions.

The Maritime Stick Championships are scheduled for Wolfville, NS in March.
