2024 PEI Mixed Doubles Champions Jenny & Edward White
The Jenny and Edward White team from the host Crapaud Community Curling Club has won the 2024 PEI Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, defeating Cornwall Curling Club’s Breanne Burgoyne and Tyler MacKenzie on Wednesday evening in the winner-take-all final game.
Team White won both the A and C sections of the modified triple knockout draw, the Burgoyne/MacKenzie team won the B section. Burgoyne/MacKenzie, only winning one section, had to beat the White duo twice in the Championship round.
Burgoyne/MacKenzie controlled the first game of the championship round winning 10-2 after six ends forcing the final championship game which was played Wednesday evening. The White’s took an early lead and controlled the game until Burgoyne/MacKenzie shook after the 6th end, trailing 10-3.
The winning White Team will now advance to the 2024 Canadian mixed Doubles Curling Championship March 17-22, 2024 in Fredericton, NB.
