Veronica Smith and Kyle Holland rinks set to represent UPEI at Atlantic Univ. Curling Ch’ships

Six women’s teams and five men’s rinks will be competing at the Atlantic University Championship, coordinated by Curl Atlantic, beginning Friday.. UNB is joining the championship this year, and will also be hosting the event, from January 3-5, 2014 at the Capital Winter Club in Fredericton, NB. Two women’s and two men’s teams will then represent Atlantic Canada at the CIS/CCA University Curling Championship, March 19-23 in Regina Sask.

UPEI is represented by the Veronica Smith and Kyle Holland rinks. The women’s team is the same as last year, and includes third Jane DiCarlo, second Emily Gray, and lead Aleya Quilty, with coach Paul Smith. Third Connor MacPhee, second stone Andrew Cameron, and lead Taylor McInnis, along with coach Eric Pidgeon round out the UPEI men’s squad.
Smith and Holland recently skipped the winning teams at the Provincial Junior Curling Championships, with McInnis being the only player from their junior rinks to also compete in this event..
