Jenny & Edward White Capture 2025 PEI Mixed Doubles Curling Championship

The 2025 PEI Mixed Doubles Curling Championship has concluded, and history has repeated itself as Jenny and Edward White claimed their fifth title in six years. The duo showcased their dominance throughout the event, securing victories in both the A and B Qualifiers, putting themselves in a strong position heading into the playoffs.

Alison Griffin-Waddell and Nick Blanchard fought their way through the C Qualifier, setting up a potential two-game playoff. With Jenny and Edward holding the advantage, Alison and Nick needed to win twice to claim the championship. However, Jenny and Edward sealed the deal in the first playoff game, securing the championship and once again earning the opportunity to represent PEI at the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Summerside from March 16-21.

Congratulations to Jenny and Ed White on their incredible achievement, and to Alison Griffin-Waddell and Nick Blanchard for an outstanding performance throughout the competition. Thank you to all the teams who participated, and to our sponsors, volunteers, and the Crapaud Community Curling Club for making this event a success.

Stay tuned for updates as Jenny and Ed prepare to take on the nation’s best at the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship!

PEI’s Top Senior Curlers Set to Compete for Provincial Titles

The PEI Seniors Curling Championships, with men’s and women’s divisions for curlers age 50 and over, will take place from January 30 to February 2 at the Summerside Curling Club. Winners will advance to the Everest Canadian Senior Curling Championships, presented by Curling Canada, in December 2025.

Defending senior women’s champions are the  rink from the Cornwall Curling Club, Shelly Bradley rink who secured last year’s title in three games of a best of five. On the men’s side, the Eddie MacKenzie rink also from the Cornwall Curling Club returns as the defending champions, having edged out the Blair Weeks team in last year’s final. Both teams are back this year looking to defend their titles.

This year’s competition sees two women’s teams facing off in a best-of-five series, while seven men’s teams will battle through a triple knockout format. The men’s event will follow a modified triple knockout draw, where the winner of each section drops down to compete in subsequent sections.
